Cat6 or Cat6A, what's the difference?
Cat6A: 10 Gbps up to 100 meters (~500 MHz). Cat6: 10 Gbps up to ~55 meters (~250 MHz). Cat6A is more future-proof and better protected against EMI/crosstalk. For professional installations we usually recommend Cat6A.

Data cabling for businesses
In practice, data cabling is a synonym for network cabling: it is the fixed cabling that carries your data traffic inside an office or commercial building. For most businesses that means Cat6 or Cat6A copper cabling to every workstation, access point and camera. Cat6 is more than enough for gigabit networks, while Cat6A leaves room for 10 gigabit and longer runs — the logical choice if you want your network to last for years.
We install data cabling as structured cabling: a fixed, documented structure from patch cabinet to workstation, tested and handed over with a test report. That gives your office or commercial building a stable network that is easy to manage and to extend.
Having network cabling installed: from pulling cable to handover
Having network cabling installed means this with us: we pull the cables, terminate them, tuck them away neatly and measure every link. Cat6 or Cat6A, depending on what you need. You or your MSP then pick up the patch cord and start configuring. We do not touch switches, VLANs or management.
An office up to roughly 20 connection points is usually a single working day. Larger projects we phase per floor or per zone, so a whole floor is never off the network at once. You get a schedule up front and a handover you can actually use afterwards: labels on every connection point, a test report per link and an as-built cable plan.
We work with CPR-classified cable material and install PoE-ready (48V) as standard, so access points and IP cameras can be added later without changes.

UTP cabling for businesses: what it is and how we install it
UTP stands for Unshielded Twisted Pair and is the standard cable in business networks. Cat6 does 1 Gbps over 100 metres, Cat6A does 10 Gbps over those same 100 metres with better shielding against crosstalk. For new installations we almost always recommend Cat6A: the price difference per point is small and the installation lasts considerably longer. In environments with a lot of electromagnetic interference we install S/FTP on request.
The route determines how tidy the end result is. We work through trunking, cable trays, the ceiling or the floor, depending on the building and the look you want. We fit and finish the wall outlets and wire through the patch panel. In existing offices, server rooms, warehouses and shops we first survey what is there and plan the routing together.
What business UTP cabling costs depends on the number of connection points, the cable lengths, the category and how awkward the building is. As a rule of thumb, expect €75-150 per point, including materials and installation. After a site survey you get a fixed price. We hand over the as-built documentation in PDF and Excel, so every wall outlet and patch point can be traced.

Can I extend existing network cabling?
Yes. We extend your existing infrastructure with extra data points, a new zone layout or a larger patch cabinet, and connect neatly to what is already there. Where possible we reuse existing routes. Old Cat5 or Cat5e is replaced with Cat6A.
How do I know my network cabling was installed properly?
