Cat6 is suitable for gigabit networks. Cat6A supports 10 Gbps on a suitable channel up to 100 metres, typically up to 90 metres of fixed cable plus patch cords. The complete link, connectors, termination and environment determine performance. Shielding is a construction choice, not a feature of every Cat6A cable. Category, route and PoE load are matched to your equipment and growth plan.

Data cabling for businesses
In practice, data cabling is a synonym for network cabling: it is the fixed cabling that carries your data traffic inside an office or commercial building. For most businesses that means Cat6 or Cat6A copper cabling to every workstation, access point and camera. Cat6 is more than enough for gigabit networks, while Cat6A leaves room for 10 gigabit and longer runs — the logical choice if you want your network to last for years.
We install data cabling as structured cabling: a fixed, documented structure from patch cabinet to workstation, tested and handed over with the handover documents agreed in the quote. That gives your office or commercial building a stable network that is easy to manage and to extend.

Having network cabling installed means this with us: we pull the cables, terminate them, tuck them away neatly and measure every link. Cat6 or Cat6A, depending on what you need. You or your MSP then pick up the patch cord and start configuring. Mounting and connecting supplied switches can be included in the quote; VLAN configuration and management stay with your IT partner.
Send the point count, floor plan, cabinet location, available cable routes and requested installation date. We assess access, cable lengths and work in occupied premises. Schedule, phasing and any interruptions are agreed in advance with your IT partner or building manager.
The required PoE type and power follow from the selected device datasheet and total switch budget. We match cable length, conductor size, bundling and connectors to those requirements. Your IT or security partner selects and configures the equipment.

Category, route and PoE load are matched to your equipment and growth plan.
The route determines how tidy the end result is. We work through trunking, cable trays, the ceiling or the floor, depending on the building and the look you want. We fit and finish the wall outlets and wire through the patch panel. In existing offices, server rooms, warehouses and shops we first survey what is there and plan the routing together.
The price depends on point count, route length, cable category, access and finishing. Indicative Cat6 prices are €90–160 per point and Cat6A €120–210 excluding VAT, with a functional connection test. Standards testing is quoted separately. Share drawings, photos and a point list for a project quote. Agree the required cable plan format beforehand.

What does it cost to have network cabling installed?
Indicative prices per connection point: Cat6 €90–160; Cat6A €120–210, excluding VAT. Includes cable installation, termination and a functional connection test. Cable length, number of points, access, containment and the patch cabinet affect the quote. Electrical testing against a cable standard is quoted separately. Your project quote specifies the scope and final price.

Which network cable should I choose for an office?
For most offices Cat6A is the logical choice: ready for 10 Gbps, suitable for longer runs and for PoE to access points, cameras and IP telephony. If your network stays on gigabit and the distances are short, Cat6 is enough. We advise based on your building and how you use it.
Can I extend existing network cabling?
Yes. We extend your existing infrastructure with extra data points, a new zone layout or a larger patch cabinet, and connect neatly to what is already there. Where possible we reuse existing routes. Existing Cat5e is assessed against required speed, length and condition before deciding on reuse or replacement.
How do I know my network cabling was installed properly?
A functional connection test is included with newly installed cabling. Electrical testing against a Cat6/Cat6A standard and a report per link are separate work, only when explicitly agreed in the quote. Test equipment, measurement limits, calibration and documentation are specified before the work. A functional test is not evidence of compliance with a cable standard and does not provide a manufacturer warranty certificate.
